What happened: Brooks reached the end zone on a 1-yard run during Friday's preseason game. The score was the first of his NFL career.

Why it matters: Brooks missed the entire 2025 season after a second ACL tear in December 2024. His return to preseason action began a week earlier, making the touchdown another step toward a 2026 role.

By the numbers: Brooks recorded three carries for 5 yards and one catch for 9 yards in his Aug. 15 return.

What to watch: His workload through the remaining preseason schedule will show how his role is developing.
