What happened: Josh Hart answered a question about Jalen Brunson's growing profile with a dry one-liner that pushed back on the idea of full-blown superstardom. The remark turned a preseason media prompt into a quick Hart-Brunson punchline.

Why it matters: It lands a few months after Brunson's 45-point title-clinching night in June raised his visibility well beyond the court. More broadly, it is another sign Brunson's public profile is now part of the conversation heading into the 2026-27 season.

What to watch: Watch for whether Brunson or Hart revisit the joke as preseason coverage continues.
