What happened: Minnesota Wild forward Kirill Kaprizov reached 10 goals. He is the first player in the NHL to hit double digits this season.

Why it matters: Early double-digit scoring sets the standard in the 2026-27 regular season. The same Kaprizov who ceded the league's highest-paid tag to Leo Carlsson in July gives Minnesota an early offensive anchor.

By the numbers: Kaprizov: 10 goals, first to double digits league-wide in 2026-27.

What to watch: Minnesota's next game tests whether the lead grows and challengers close the gap.
