What happened: Kawhi Leonard is out for the Toronto Raptors' preseason matchup against the LA Clippers due to reconditioning. His absence delays his on-court integration with the reshaped Toronto roster.

Why it matters: Toronto is evaluating its outlook with and without Leonard as the regular season nears following his recently finalized trade. The cautious approach prioritizes his physical readiness over early exhibition minutes.

By the numbers: Toronto enters the exhibition with a 5-5 record and a 116.6 scoring average, while the Clippers hold a 6-4 mark.

What to watch: The Raptors will monitor Leonard's conditioning before determining his availability for the remainder of the preseason.
