What happened: Kawhi Leonard will not play in Saturday's preseason matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers. Toronto is holding the veteran forward out as part of a scheduled ramp-up process following the offseason rather than managing a new injury.

Why it matters: The decision keeps Leonard sidelined for a second consecutive exhibition. The organization is carefully managing his workload ahead of the 2026-27 campaign following his recent trade and two-year, $115 million extension.

What to watch: Leonard's next opportunity to take the floor is Tuesday against the New York Knicks.
