What happened: Las Vegas Raiders head coach Klint Kubiak told reporters Monday that Kirk Cousins will remain the team's starting quarterback, per Adam Schefter. Addressing the depth chart directly, Kubiak said "there is no controversy" at the position.

Why it matters: The decision keeps Las Vegas' opening-day starter in command of the offense after Kubiak recently noted the staff was evaluating all options for the future. Retaining the veteran signal-caller stabilizes the offensive operation entering the midseason stretch.

What to watch: Cousins will lead the Raiders on the road against the New York Jets on Sunday.
