What happened: On the nine-year anniversary of the New York Knicks signing Trey Burke, the organization is evaluating James Wiseman. The 25-year-old enters his sixth professional season looking to secure a permanent roster spot.

Why it matters: Wiseman's career trajectory mirrors Burke's early professional struggles. Burke spent time with the Utah Jazz and Washington Wizards before finding a temporary role in New York, while Wiseman is attempting to establish himself after multiple major injuries.

What to watch: Wiseman will compete for rotation minutes during the preseason.
