What happened: New York Knicks fans are finalizing travel and viewing plans for the team's first-ever championship ticker-tape parade through the Canyon of Heroes. The celebration is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. ET on Thursday, June 18, starting at Battery Park and proceeding north along Broadway to City Hall Plaza.

Why it matters: The event marks the end of a 53-year championship drought for the franchise, which recently secured the 2026 NBA title. This victory follows a postseason where the Knicks established a physical tone early against Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs to become the first team to win both the NBA Cup and the Larry O'Brien Trophy in one season.

What to watch: Fans are encouraged to arrive in Lower Manhattan early on Thursday, with millions expected to attend the procession and subsequent City Hall ceremony.
