What happened: New York is closing out the 2026-27 preseason with its opening-night roster still to be finalized. The club signed and waived Dink Pate on Oct. 17 to secure his Westchester rights.

Why it matters: Opening-night decisions carry second-apron consequences for the Knicks, who can keep James Wiseman and Bruce Brown without moving Tyler Kolek. Sorting the back end of the roster now shapes availability ahead of the Oct. 30 Cup courts start.

What to watch: The next step is the official opening-night roster and corresponding G League assignments.
