What happened: Shams Charania reported the plan concerning Dadiet’s rookie contract. Dadiet has played sparingly for New York this season.

Why it matters: Dadiet’s discounted rookie salary helped create the room needed for the Karl-Anthony Towns trade. The Knicks have also halted extension talks with Towns and Josh Hart amid second-apron concerns.

What to watch: Dadiet is set to reach unrestricted free agency next summer, though a return to New York remains possible.
