What happened: Seattle's third annual Kraken 5K presented by VMF Health was underway Saturday before the night's scheduled puck drop. The club had already tied this weekend's matchup to the run in earlier coverage of the event.

Why it matters: The run extends Seattle's preseason fan-events push as the back-to-back set wraps Saturday night. It also keeps the spotlight on Opening Night programming one day before the club's October 4 opener.

By the numbers: Seattle enters Saturday 7-7 and has won four of its last five games. Its most recent trip to Edmonton ended in a 3-0 loss on March 31.

What to watch: Next up is Saturday night's scheduled preseason meeting, listed at 0-0 before puck drop. Seattle then turns to Opening Night on October 4.
