What happened: Nick Krall outlined position-player needs for Cincinnati as the club turns toward offseason roster work. That puts lineup construction and everyday depth at the front of the Reds' winter checklist.

Why it matters: The timing matters because the postseason is under way and clubs outside the bracket are already shaping next season's roster. The comments also extend a front-office theme from Krall's earlier discussion of Reds roster needs, keeping position-player help on the agenda after the trade deadline passed.

What to watch: Watch for the first Reds moves once the market opens and for any follow-up from Krall on whether the club is pursuing everyday bats, depth, or both.
