What happened: Laeticia Amihere earned a WNBA championship as the Golden State Valkyries captured the 2026 league title. The forward maintained a rotational frontcourt role following a waiver claim from Atlanta. She made her mark during the series after converting an offensive-rebound tip-in in the Finals opener.

Why it matters: The championship makes the Valkyries the fastest expansion team in WNBA history to capture a title, clinching the crown in their second season. The victory caps Amihere's career turnaround after being waived in February 2025.

What to watch: Golden State now turns toward the offseason to evaluate its championship roster ahead of the upcoming 2027 season.
