What happened: LAFC initiated its return to the pitch following the mid-summer break in the 2026 calendar. The club directed supporters to ticket sales for upcoming fixtures as squad preparation resumes.

Why it matters: Resuming regular-season competition initiates the critical second half of the Major League Soccer campaign as clubs position themselves in the playoff race. The team returns to league play with an altered roster following the departure of forward Nathan Ordaz to D.C. United and the European loan of midfielder Matt Evans earlier in July. Upcoming fixtures will also serve as direct preparation before the squad transitions into mid-season tournament competition at Leagues Cup.

What to watch: Attention turns to upcoming road competition, highlighted by an August 1 visit to BC Place to face the Vancouver Whitecaps before a crowd exceeding 30,000. The club will also prepare for group-stage fixtures as the annual Leagues Cup tournament approaches.
