What happened: Los Angeles Lakers guard Luka Doncic and head coach JJ Redick say the team is moving in the right direction during preseason. Los Angeles used extended full-court pressure against Sacramento Kings with Ziaire Williams, Matisse Thybulle, Quentin Grimes, Jake Laravia and Adou Thiero rotating on the ball.

Why it matters: The approach centers on physicality, deflections and forced turnovers to start defensive possessions, with Doncic playing off the ball before screening actions bring him to it. Walker Kessler missed both Northern California games, while Austin Reaves and Collin Sexton were also sidelined against Golden State Warriors, changing nightly availability.

What to watch: Watch availability of Kessler, Reaves and Sexton as camp continues ahead of the scheduled Sacramento Kings visit to Los Angeles Lakers.
