What happened: The Los Angeles Lakers added center Rafael Castro to their training camp roster and waived forward William Kyle III. Castro arrives as an undrafted rookie who spent time with the Houston Rockets on a two-way contract earlier this offseason.

Why it matters: The roster adjustment brings a new frontcourt option into Los Angeles as the team evaluates its depth. Castro earned all-conference and All-Defense honors twice during his collegiate career at George Washington.

What to watch: Castro will compete for a roster spot as the Lakers progress through their preseason schedule.
