What happened: Law Murray tied Dalton Knecht's squeeze to Los Angeles adding Ziaire Williams and Matisse Thybulle while still shopping for another forward after drafting Cameron Carr. Murray added Knecht fits best with the ball in his hands.

Why it matters: Los Angeles faces a Monday cutdown before Wednesday's opener against the Warriors, with Dalton Knecht expected to be waived as trade talks stall. A ball-dominant role is scarce behind a retooled wing rotation, leaving Knecht without a clear path to minutes.

What to watch: Watch Monday's 5 p.m. ET roster deadline for a final trade or waiver move.
