What happened: LaMonte Wade Jr. delivered a game-tying RBI double to drive in Isaac Paredes in the sixth inning of Monday's contest against the Angels. However, the veteran immediately left the field with right hamstring soreness after reaching second base.

Why it matters: The injury to LaMonte Wade Jr. is a significant blow to a Houston lineup struggling for consistency. At 31-37, the Astros are fighting to remain competitive in the AL West and can ill afford to lose their primary offensive spark.

By the numbers: The Astros improved to 31-37 with the 5-4 extra-innings victory. Josh Hader earned the win after striking out the side in the ninth inning, while Bryan Abreu secured his fourth save of the season.

What to watch: Wade Jr. will undergo further evaluation on Tuesday to determine the severity of the strain. The Astros continue their three-game set in Anaheim tonight.
