What happened: Kara Lawson and Breanna Stewart wrapped the postgame celebration after the U.S. finished off its FIBA Women's World Cup title run. Stewart was named tournament MVP after leading the Americans through the final stage.

Why it matters: The result extends the U.S. program's hold on the event and gives Stewart another major international marker. Lawson's first World Cup cycle as head coach ends with the gold standard intact.

What to watch: Next comes the roster handoff back to club play, where minutes and workload will matter after a long international run.
