What happened: LeBron James, who began offseason work ahead of his 24th NBA season, now has an updated headshot for the 2026-27 campaign. The new image was rolled out alongside a look at how his league portrait has changed over time.

Why it matters: The milestone carries more weight than the photo itself, with James still active as he enters Year 24. That gives an otherwise cosmetic preseason update some relevance because James remains central to national NBA season promotion.

What to watch: Watch for James' first on-court preseason appearance as the 2026-27 rollout continues. That will provide the next substantive update beyond the new headshot.
