What happened: The New York Liberty beat the Washington Mystics 86-64 to clinch the Eastern Conference berth in the 2026 WNBA Commissioner's Cup Championship Game. The league's updated standings confirm New York as the East representative. The Western Conference spot remains undecided.

Why it matters: The result locks the Liberty into a marquee Commissioner's Cup final and extends their hold atop the East. For Washington, the lopsided loss interrupts its recent push as the Mystics work to stay in the playoff picture.

By the numbers: New York improved to 11-5 and rode a seven-game winning streak into the night, scoring 88.0 and allowing 82.2 per game. Washington fell to 6-8. The teams had split styles earlier this season, with the Liberty winning the May 10 meeting 98-93.

What to watch: Focus shifts west, where the final Championship Game berth is still up for grabs and Las Vegas can clinch with a win.
