Louis Varland time ⏰ https://t.co/WuLdXlZI1D

What happened: Louis Varland was up Wednesday for another turn.

Why it matters: Varland's first career All-Star selection already pushed this season beyond ordinary bullpen traffic. He entered July having converted all 17 of his save chances, so each new appearance still carries weight.

By the numbers: Through June 30, prior coverage had Varland at 17 saves in 17 chances. He was selected to the All-Star Game on July 5.

What to watch: Watch for the official line from Varland's next appearance and whether it adds to that save total.
