What happened: Zach Lowe and Steve Nash taped an Around the NBA conversation on Eastern and Western questions entering 2026-27 camp. The agenda lists Karl-Anthony Towns drama, Giannis Antetokounmpo's early fit in Miami, Detroit's Duren situation, plus MVP and Finals picks.

Why it matters: Miami's new frontcourt alignment will shape the East race if the pairing holds through camp. Philadelphia's rotation and health outlook frames where the Sixers land in early projections alongside Cleveland, New York and Detroit.

What to watch: Miami's camp practices and preseason sets will offer first on-court reads on spacing and defensive assignments. MVP and Finals picks will be tested against opening-month results.
