What happened: Luis Hernandez directed a callout at Chris Curtis following UFC Vegas 121. Hernandez submitted Sedriques Dumas in the first round of his promotional debut at that event. Curtis previously asked matchmakers for the Hernandez matchup.

Why it matters: The exchange pairs an unbeaten newcomer against a veteran at 6-5-1 in UFC competition. Curtis said matchmakers told him Hernandez was not ready yet when he requested the fight. A booking would test Hernandez beyond a short-notice debut at 204 pounds.

By the numbers: Hernandez won his debut in 57 seconds on two days' notice at 204 pounds. Curtis stands at 6-5-1 in UFC competition.

What to watch: Watch whether matchmakers book Hernandez against Curtis next.
