What happened: South Africa head coach Pitso Mosimane selected Lyle Foster for upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. Foster joins the national squad for back-to-back fixtures against Kenya during the November international window.

Why it matters: The call-up sends the forward to international duty as MLS moves into its postseason schedule. The international window runs alongside tournament play, creating potential scheduling overlap for players advancing through the bracket.

What to watch: South Africa hosts the opening qualifier against Kenya before concluding the home-and-away series.
