What happened: Chiefs coach Andy Reid says Patrick Mahomes has been cleared by the medical staff to take his usual reps at training camp. Reid said Mahomes moved well through spring workouts, calling the clearance the expected outcome. Mahomes is coming back from a torn ACL and LCL.

Why it matters: Mahomes had chafed at a lighter spring workload during his recovery and prefers the heavier reps Kansas City runs him through in camp. Full participation restores his normal camp routine ahead of the 2026 season.

What to watch: Watch how the Chiefs manage his reps once camp opens in full.
