What happened: Manti praised Purdy's current play as San Francisco prepares for its matchup with Denver. The comment keeps the 49ers quarterback in the national conversation heading into the week.

Why it matters: Quarterback form matters even more with San Francisco managing injuries elsewhere on the roster, including at wide receiver. It also extends the recent MVP-caliber buzz around Purdy as the 49ers try to keep their early-season momentum.

What to watch: The next read comes when San Francisco faces Denver and Purdy gets another regular-season test. Any fresh availability updates around the 49ers receiving group would sharpen the setup for that game.
