What happened: Marco Reus converted a setup from Robert Taylor to give the LA Galaxy the opening goal of the evening. The strike sent Los Angeles into the halftime break with the lead.

Why it matters: The connection builds on growing chemistry between Reus and Taylor, who entered together in a 60th-minute double substitution on Oct. 11 alongside Paintsil and Ruiz. Reus has carried steady attacking form through the autumn stretch after earning MLS Team of the Matchday honors on Sept. 21.

What to watch: Los Angeles looks to protect its first-half advantage and secure full points as the regular-season slate continues.
