What happened: Seattle Mariners players Julio Rodríguez and Randy Arozarena attended Monday’s FIFA World Cup match between Belgium and Egypt at Lumen Field. The pair was spotted in the stands during a scheduled team off-day as Seattle continues its run as a host city for the 2026 tournament.

Why it matters: The appearance comes as both players remain in high contention for the 2026 MLB All-Star Game, with Rodríguez and Arozarena currently sitting 6th and 7th respectively in AL outfield voting. Belgium opened their World Cup buildup in Seattle last week, and the 1-1 draw against Egypt maintains their position in Group G.

By the numbers: Mariners: 37-36 (1st in AL West) Belgium 1, Egypt 1 (F) Rodríguez: 421,205 All-Star votes (6th) Arozarena: 412,273 All-Star votes (7th)

What to watch: The Mariners return to the field Tuesday to defend their one-game lead in the AL West as All-Star voting continues.
