“Whatever’s going on there, it’s a bad look.” @kevinburkhardt and @DTrainMLB talk about what’s going on with Ketel Mart Via @MLBONFOX on X

What happened: Ketel Marte missed the Aug. 17 game after being penciled in as the designated hitter and was placed on the restricted list. He later returned to Phoenix and met with club officials.

Why it matters: The episode has intensified scrutiny around a key player during the final weeks of the playoff race. His availability carries added weight with fewer than 30 regular-season games remaining.

By the numbers: Marte moved from the restricted list to the 10-day injured list on Aug. 20. An MRI showed left knee inflammation, and he began rehabilitation after receiving an injection.

What to watch: His rehabilitation progress and return to the active roster are the next developments to watch.
