What happened: A report says the Dallas Mavericks are showing trade-up interest in this draft to land a "3-level scorer" who could pair alongside Cooper Flagg. No deal is in place; this remains rumor at the pre-draft stage.

Why it matters: Pairing a versatile scorer with Flagg would address Dallas's need for backcourt shot creation as it builds around its cornerstone. This echoes earlier reporting that the Mavericks have been eyeing a draft trade-up, suggesting an organized push to move up the board.

What to watch: Watch for which pick the Mavericks target and what assets a trade-up would cost ahead of the draft. Any named player attached to the rumor would clarify Dallas's intentions.
