What happened: Baker Mayfield is working through practices as Tampa Bay evaluates his thumb for this week. Availability hinges on how the thumb responds and whether he keeps completing practice work.

Why it matters: Tampa Bay's starting quarterback decision shapes its offensive lineup and preparation. Missing time in the regular season would shift snaps and game-plan responsibilities.

What to watch: Tampa Bay is expected to reach a decision on Mayfield's status Friday. His continued participation in practices remains the marker to monitor.
