What happened: Andrew McCutchen named Pete Crow-Armstrong as his modern-day counterpart during an MLB Network postseason appearance on Oct. 5. The answer came in response to a question asking McCutchen to name his present-day equivalent.

Why it matters: The comparison links McCutchen to a younger center fielder in the October spotlight. It puts Crow-Armstrong's profile alongside a veteran with postseason studio duties this week.

What to watch: Crow-Armstrong continues play as the 2026 postseason unfolds. McCutchen remains on MLB Network through its postseason coverage.
