What happened: Mike Evans intends to try to play through a painful rib injury Sunday against Denver. The San Francisco wide receiver enters the weekend with a questionable designation.

Why it matters: His availability matters for a 49ers offense heading into another regular-season test against the Broncos. It also extends the health watch around Mike Evans after his scoring start to the season in San Francisco.

What to watch: San Francisco's game-day inactive list will determine whether Evans is available against the Broncos. If he is active, pregame usage will be the next clue on how the club plans to manage the rib issue.
