What happened: The 24-year-old has a 2.16 ERA with 31 strikeouts across 25 innings in his past four starts. He retained his position after another strong stretch.

Why it matters: The sustained run strengthens Misiorowski's National League Cy Young Award case entering the final month of the regular season. Another month at this level would turn an exceptional peak into a season-long body of work.

By the numbers: Misiorowski owns a 1.68 ERA and 39.3% strikeout rate this season. Over his past 10 starts, he has a 2.17 ERA and 38.5% strikeout rate after surpassing 200 strikeouts earlier this month.

What to watch: Misiorowski is scheduled to return to the mound Thursday night.
