What happened: League executives selected Jalen Brunson as the NBA's top leader in the 2026-27 NBA GM Survey released Thursday.

Why it matters: Executive recognition as the league's premier locker-room leader follows a summer in which Brunson turned 30 after a banner year that included his NBA Finals debut in June. Front offices across the league continue to benchmark his late-game poise and command entering the new campaign.

What to watch: The 2026-27 NBA regular season opens in one week with an opening-night tripleheader following the conclusion of the preseason slate.
