What happened: The NFL reduced Los Angeles Rams left tackle Alaric Jackson's suspension from two games to one, one day after the initial discipline. Jackson will miss the Week 6 game against the Arizona Cardinals and return for Week 7 against the Las Vegas Raiders. The suspension followed a punch at a Buffalo Bills defensive lineman after Monday's 37-34 loss.

Why it matters: The reduction restores the Rams' starting left tackle one week early during the 2026 regular season. David Quessenberry, 36, is listed as the backup to protect Matthew Stafford's blind side against Josh Sweat and Arizona in Week 6.

By the numbers: Jackson is in his sixth NFL season. In 2025 with the Rams, Stafford completed 388 of 597 passes for 4,707 yards with 46 touchdowns and 8 interceptions in 17 games. In 2025 with the Cardinals, Sweat made 30 tackles with 12 sacks in 17 games.

What to watch: Watch how Los Angeles handles left tackle against Arizona in Week 6. Jackson becomes eligible to return ahead of the Week 7 game against Las Vegas.
