What happened: NFL Network's Insiders devoted a segment to Baker Mayfield's contract situation and roster status with the Buccaneers, with Sara Walsh and Steve Wyche leading the discussion. The segment did not report a resolution to the talks.

Why it matters: The discussion comes as Mayfield's extension talks with Tampa Bay remain far from a deal heading into training camp. Where his contract lands affects the Buccaneers' offensive planning for the 2026 season.

What to watch: Watch for movement on the extension as the Buccaneers open training camp.
