What happened: NFL insider Ian Rapoport confirmed that May 14 is the day the NFL will unveil its full 2026 regular-season schedule. The league previously announced the release will air Thursday, May 14 at 8 p.m. ET on NFL Network. Individual matchups, dates, and primetime windows will all drop in that window.

Why it matters: The schedule release is one of the offseason's biggest content moments, driving, season-win totals, and primetime travel planning for fans. Strength-of-schedule readings shift Super Bowl odds and division futures within hours of the reveal. It also sets the table for international games, holiday slots, and standalone Black Friday and Christmas windows.

What to watch: Watch for leaked Week 1 and primetime matchups in the hours before the broadcast, plus immediate movement on season-win totals once full slates drop. International game host cities and Thanksgiving/Christmas assignments will follow.
