What happened: Nikola Jokic stood by his earlier criticism of Denver Nuggets spectators who jeered the roster during a home deficit, stating, 'I'm sticking to what I said.' The center previously maintained that those detractors are not welcome at the arena anymore because the team never quits on the floor.

Why it matters: The public friction between the franchise cornerstone and segments of the home crowd surfaces during an uneven opening stretch that included a 134-114 defeat. After Jokic reported to Nuggets media day in shape, early defensive lapses and home-court frustration have tested Denver's initial regular-season momentum.

What to watch: Attention now turns to how the Denver home crowd responds the next time the Nuggets take the floor for a regular-season matchup.
