What happened: Traore produced the burst in nine minutes of court time during preseason play ahead of the 2026-27 season. It followed a 12-point outing against Philadelphia in 16 minutes two days earlier.

Why it matters: Traore is entering Year 2 with Brooklyn evaluating its young guards for rotation roles. Sustained scoring production in limited preseason minutes informs backcourt decisions before the opener.

By the numbers: 13 points in 9 minutes. Previous preseason outing: 12 points, 4-of-8 FG, 2-of-3 3PT in 16 minutes vs. Philadelphia.

What to watch: Brooklyn's remaining preseason games will indicate whether Traore holds a regular second-unit role into the opener.
