What happened: Denver emphasized physicality in practice ahead of the trip. The Nuggets meet the Thunder on Thursday, Oct. 22 to begin the season. The game is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.

Why it matters: Season openers establish rotations and defensive tone for the weeks ahead. Opening on the road against Oklahoma City provides an early test of Denver's approach. The national television slot puts that first measure in front of a leaguewide audience.

What to watch: Denver's rotation decisions and defensive execution in the opener will shape the first week.
