Odell Beckham Jr. signs to Vikings practice squad after Giants release

Went without a catch in three games back in New York

Wire Report IntelligenceUpdated 1h1 min read

What happened: Minnesota announced the move Wednesday after Beckham's Sept. 29 release from New York. He played three games in his return to the Giants with zero receptions across 20 offensive snaps, including six snaps in a 12-7 win over Tennessee.

Why it matters: The 4-0 Vikings face New Orleans in Week 5 with Justin Jefferson's status uncertain after he missed a win over Miami with an ankle sprain. Beckham reunites with Kevin O'Connell, his offensive coordinator with Los Angeles in 2021, as Minnesota adds veteran depth.

By the numbers: Beckham: 0 receptions in 3 games; 20 offensive snaps total, 6 in finale. Vikings enter Week 5 at 4-0; Giants drafted Beckham 12th overall in 2014.

What to watch: Watch whether Beckham is elevated for Week 5 against New Orleans and how Jefferson's ankle progresses through practice.
