What happened: Officials stepped between Joel Embiid and Landry Shamet after an on-court exchange on Oct. 20. The meeting came on the 2026-27 preseason slate ahead of opening night.

Why it matters: Embiid is operating as Philadelphia's lone available center with Hukporti and Fall sidelined. Shamet secured a 2026-27 roster spot in July on perimeter shooting.

What to watch: Watch for postgame comment from either side and confirmation both remain available for the next preseason date.
