What happened: Ryan Nugent-Hopkins sealed the victory at Rogers Place with the shootout winner after recording a goal and an assist in regulation. Following the game, Leon Draisaitl praised Nugent-Hopkins for making the right play every time, while Nugent-Hopkins noted his focus on moving his feet and competing hard.

Why it matters: The performance marks a timely return for the same Ryan Nugent-Hopkins who was sidelined by a practice injury earlier in the fall. Getting secondary finishing alongside top-line production from Connor McDavid and Draisaitl gives Edmonton the depth needed to close out tight games against top Eastern Conference opposition.

What to watch: Edmonton looks to build on its winning streak with Nugent-Hopkins back in the lineup alongside McDavid and Draisaitl, while Carolina aims to tighten up defensively following the road loss.
