What happened: Otto Lopez is enjoying the best offensive stretch of his career this season, drawing a spotlight from the league's official account. The infielder has been a steady run producer and on-base presence in Miami's lineup, building on a breakout that has carried through the first half.

Why it matters: A career year from Lopez gives Miami a reliable everyday bat and reshapes how the club fills out its order. His production has also pushed him into the conversation among the National League's most-voted players, a marker of how far his profile has climbed in a single season.

What to watch: Watch whether Lopez sustains the pace into the second half and whether his vote total is enough to earn a first All-Star selection.
