What happened: San Diego included Joe Musgrove and Ethan Salas on its wild-card roster. Craig Counsell plans to deploy starting pitchers without fixed roles for the matchup.

Why it matters: Musgrove gives San Diego a veteran pitching option for October. Salas adds catching depth for a short series where bench flexibility matters.

What to watch: The game is scheduled for tonight. Lineups and pitching order will be confirmed before first pitch.
