What happened: Carolina paired the placement with additional roster moves. Jackson is in his second season out of Florida.

Why it matters: The move thins Carolina's interior defensive line rotation. Depth is already tested after Carolina placed both starting cornerbacks on injured reserve before the Lions game in a late-September move.

By the numbers: Cam Jackson, 2025 season (per ESPN as of Sept. 29, 2026): 9 tackles in 9 games. Draft: fifth round, No. 140 overall out of Florida.

What to watch: Carolina now has an open roster spot to restock interior depth.
