What happened: Bill Parcells was likely extremely proud of his former Dallas Cowboys defensive coach Todd Bowles following Thursday's performance. The lone exception was Bowles' decision to bypass a field goal that would have made it a three-score game.

Why it matters: Bowles previously coached under Parcells during his tenure in Dallas. The defensive unit ultimately secured a goal-line stop to preserve the victory.

By the numbers: The matchup reached a final result of Tampa Bay Buccaneers 24, Dallas Cowboys 16.

What to watch: Dallas drops to a 4-4 record on the regular season.
