What happened: Patrick Ewing took part in New York's championship parade celebrating the Knicks' first NBA title in 53 years. The franchise icon, who anchored the team through the 1990s, joined the celebration alongside fans as the city honored its champions.

Why it matters: Ewing carried the Knicks to the Finals during his playing days but never captured a title, making his presence at the parade a long-awaited payoff for him and a fan base that waited generations. It mirrors Ewing finally getting to hold the trophy he chased his whole career.

What to watch: The celebration continues through Manhattan as the Knicks cap their championship run with the city's first basketball parade in over five decades.
